Energy Standard

Energy has become a commodity.  We depend greatly on our electricity and gasoline in everyday life.  During electrical outages productivity literally stops causing millions of dollars of losses.  Due to efforts from utilities electricity is almost always available.  From this high reliability the public expects electricity to be always available no matter of the demand.  Achieving high levels of availability posses a difficult challenge especially for intermittent alternative renewable power generation.
